Prompt Configuration

Prompts are the questions nonBot AI sends to each AI model on your behalf. The quality and relevance of your prompts directly determines the value of your visibility analysis — the right prompts reveal how AI assistants recommend brands in your category for the searches that matter most to your business.

Generated Prompts

When you first set up your analysis, nonBot AI automatically generates a set of discovery prompts based on your brand category and competitive landscape. These are the types of questions your potential customers are likely asking AI assistants — product comparisons, recommendations, "best of" queries, and industry-specific questions.

Generated prompts appear in the Generated sub-tab under Setup. Each prompt can be edited inline if you want to adjust the wording, deleted if it's not relevant to your business, and tagged for filtering (so you can view KPIs for specific prompt groups). You can also refresh your entire generated prompt set if your category or competitive landscape has changed. Prompt refreshes are limited by plan — the remaining count is displayed in the interface.

Custom Prompts

In the Custom sub-tab, you can add your own prompts to test specific scenarios that matter to your brand. Custom prompts are useful for testing how AI responds to your exact product name, testing queries you know your customers ask, monitoring specific competitive comparisons, and tracking branded versus unbranded queries. Type your prompt in the input field and click Add to include it in your next run. Custom prompts support the same editing, deleting, and tagging features as generated prompts.

Prompt Discovery

The Discover sub-tab (Pro plans and above) helps you find new high-value prompts by surfacing questions from People Also Ask results, related search suggestions, and LLM-generated query variations. Each discovered prompt shows its estimated AI search volume so you can prioritize the queries with the most traffic potential. Click the add button to move any discovered prompt into your custom prompt set.

Tags & Filtering

Tags let you organize prompts into groups — for example, by product line, funnel stage, or query type. Once tagged, you can filter your Dashboard KPIs to see performance for specific prompt groups only. This is especially useful for brands with multiple products or service lines that want to track AI visibility for each one separately.

Prompt Limits

Your plan determines your total prompt allocation pool — Pro plans include 75 prompts, Elite includes 200, and Agency includes 1,500. This pool is shared across all your runs and URLs. Each individual run can include up to 25 prompts. Your remaining allocation is displayed in the Setup tab.

Next Steps

After configuring your prompts, run your analysis from the Setup Overview, then view your results in the Results Overview.
