Sources & Pages

The Sources & Pages tab provides a traditional traffic analysis view, showing where your visitors come from and which pages they land on. This complements the AI-specific data by giving you the full picture of your website's traffic landscape.

Traffic Sources

The Traffic Sources table lists all source/medium combinations driving visits to your site, ranked by session count. Each row shows the source (e.g., google, facebook, perplexity.ai), the medium (e.g., organic, referral, cpc), total sessions, and engagement metrics. This standard GA4 breakdown helps you see AI traffic in context alongside your other acquisition channels.

Understanding Source/Medium

The source/medium format follows GA4 conventions. Source identifies where the traffic originates (a search engine, social platform, or referring domain), while medium describes the type of traffic (organic, paid, referral, email). AI-referred traffic typically appears with the AI platform as the source and "referral" as the medium—for example, chat.openai.com / referral or perplexity.ai / referral.

Top Landing Pages

The Top Landing Pages table ranks your website pages by the number of sessions they receive. For each page, you'll see the page path, total sessions, and engagement data. Pages that receive AI-referred traffic are highlighted with an AI citation badge, making it easy to identify which content AI assistants are driving visitors to.

Using This Data

Compare AI-referred landing pages to your overall top pages to understand whether AI is driving traffic to the same content your other channels favor or uncovering different entry points. Pages with high AI traffic but low engagement may need content improvements, while pages with strong AI engagement metrics validate your optimization strategy.
